Following the “Apéros-tragédies,” the theater company Le Festin des Idiots once again brings literary classics into our daily lives by adapting *The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha*.
Stage props. Lots of objects. A story that’s impossible to tell, and two intrepid actors—a man and a woman—who throw themselves headlong into the exuberance of this exhilarating script.
Bizarre twists and turns, philosophical digressions, a quest for the Absolute and for dry socks—we can no longer tell what is part of the adventures of the famous knight and his famous squire, nor what is invented, accidental, or magical. Amid this joyful chaos, which spills over into the audience, the cruel questions of our world emerge, as if by osmosis: Is it impossible to be just, to remain true to oneself? How can one remain faithful, to the very end, to what one believes in?
But then again, what we believe—what does that really have to do with reality?
What's true here?
