Donate blood, save lives!

Announcement Staff life, Student life
October 13, 2026Saint-Martin-d'Hères - University Campus
Because blood supplies remain as low as ever, the French Blood Establishment is organizing another blood drive on campus. To save lives, please set aside an hour of your time on October 13 between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Appointments are now being accepted at the DLST!
Did you know that you can save three lives? How? All it takes is an hour and two drops of generosity to donate blood!

Share your power, give blood!

Every day, 10,000 blood donations are needed to meet the needs of patients, including 1,400 in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. To ensure that reserves are regularly replenished, it is essential that donors give blood throughout the year. To date, there is no treatment or synthetic drug that can replace labile blood products.

The French Blood Establishment (EFS) is appealing to your generosity and organizing a new blood drive on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Hall D of the DLST (access map) on the university campus.

Please note: the minimum interval between two blood donations is 8 weeks. If you are unable to participate in this mobile blood drive, you can donate blood at the Maison du don de Grenoble - La Tronche throughout the year.

Requirements for donating

  • Be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Being in good health
  • Have an ID (if it's your first donation)
  • Do not fast (eat and drink during the day)
  • Wait 4 months after getting a tattoo or piercing
  • Allow 1 hour of your time to complete the donation process.
Not sure? An EFS booth is set up at every blood drive on campus, so feel free to stop by and ask any questions you may have!

How does the donation work?

  • Reception: registration of your file and delivery of the confidential pre-donation questionnaire
  • Confidential medical consultation: your blood is drawn using sterile, single-use equipment (7 to 10 minutes maximum).
  • The sample collection: 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Snack time: a friendly moment of rest and recovery after donating, allowing you to eat and drink.
