Any permanent or temporary disability or illness recognized by the competent health authorities allows for adjustments to be made to your coursework and exam conditions.
This system is based on recommendations made by the Disability Support Service (SAH), which are themselves based on the medical opinion of a certified disability doctor at the university health center (CSU).
Definition and recognition of disability
Definition of disability:
Article L. 114 (Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005, Art. 2 I)
"For the purposes of this Act, a disability is any limitation of activity or restriction of participation in society suffered by a person in their environment due to a substantial, lasting, or permanent impairment of one or more physical, sensory, mental, cognitive, or psychological functions, a multiple disability, or a disabling health condition."
Recognition of disability:
Recognition of disability, which requires an application from the disabled person or their parents or guardians, entitles them to specific benefits. Recognition of disability is entrusted to departmental commissions, which are different for young people and adults. They are supported by multidisciplinary technical teams who analyze each case in order to inform their decision.
Mon Parcours Handicap is a digital platform developed by Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) and Caisse nationale de solidarité pour l’autonomie (CNSA) in May 2020 to provide official information and day-to-day support to people with disabilities.
Temporary incapacity:
In general terms, disability is the partial or total reduction in a person's ability to perform an activity or fulfill the role expected of them, due to physical, sensory, intellectual, or mental difficulties resulting from accidents, impairments, or various disorders.
