University Diploma (DU): Methods for studying natural environments/Applied botany

Presentation and Objectives:

This university diploma is supervised by faculty members fromUniversité Grenoble Alpes, under the responsibility of Rolland Douzet and François Munoz. It is primarily intended for bachelor's and master's degree students, but also for those in continuing education.

Audience: Students in initial training who are pursuing or have entered fields related to the environment, ecology, or biodiversity. Staff of organizations and agencies involved in the environment (design offices, local authorities, nature parks, conservatories, botanical gardens, guides, teachers, etc.).


Program:

content: (60 hours) (held over two consecutive weeks at the end of May/beginning of June)

Theoretical foundations of botany and plant morphology. Major families of angiosperms in French flora, practical approach to identification. Methods of sampling and studying vegetation. Simple data processing.

Practical work in floral analysis/determination.

Field trips (two and a half days).

Admission:

Students in initial training who are planning to enter or have entered fields related to the environment, ecology, or biodiversity.

Important notes:

Enrollment in a DU does not confer student status.
Completion of the DU does not result in the award of ECTS credits.
